Howler Monkey Sauce
Tom and I both grew up in Panama in the former Canal Zone. We both shared a love for hot sauce and had a passion for growing our own Aji Chombo (Scotch Bonnet) peppers. After many years of traveling back and forth from Panama to the United States and lugging back countless bottles of Aji Chombo hot sauce, we decided to take a stab at making it ourselves. After much collaboration and taste testing we came up with the right flavor and decided to share it. What started off in the backyard and kitchen turned in to Howler Monkey Sauces, Inc.
Aji Chombo is a traditional Panamanian style hot sauce heavily influenced by the Caribbean. The hot sauces created from these peppers are typically vinegar based and are commonly referred to as Aji Chombo or Chombo Picante. You can use Aji Chombo on just about anything. Unlike most Habanero hot sauces, the Aji Chombo hot sauce starts off with a burn that turns into a blast of flavor. In keeping with tradition our sauce is All Natural! We don’t use Xanthan Gum or Sodium Benzonate, which you will find in a lot of other hot sauces. We made the label clear to show you what’s in the bottle. We are proud of what’s in our bottle, just look at our ingredients, we don’t water down our sauce!
Howler Monkey Original
Our Original hot sauce is a traditional Caribbean style hot sauce, unique to the country of Panama, called Aji (ah-hee’) Chombo. The heat and flavor will liven up just about any dish.
Ingredients (5oz./148ml): Distilled vinegar, scotch bonnet peppers, garlic, water, onions, mustard (distilled vinegar, mustard seed, salt, turmeric, spices), salt, turmeric, black pepper, cumin

Want more heat? Hot is another variety of our Caribbean style hot sauce from Panama. We took our Original recipe and add Red Habaneros to bring up the heat a few notches. Same great taste with a little more kick!

Howler Monkey Verde
Don’t be fooled by the name, this is no tomatillo hot sauce! A blend of green habaneros and bell peppers makes the base for this great sauce. Mild heat with a hint of sweet, this sauce goes great on any dish!
Ingredients (5oz./148ml Bottle): Distilled vinegar, green habanero peppers, green bell peppers, onions, garlic, cilantro, salt.
Amarillo is our third installment of our Caribbean style hot sauces from Panama. We use select yellow scotch bonnets and tweaked our Original recipe. Slightly hotter than our Original with another great flavor!
